We are hiring!
The Embassy of Japan in Libya is seeking to recruit four (4) full-time local assistants of the following positions.
The call for applications is open until 12 September 2024 via (application.eoj@tr.mofa.go.jp).
Descriptions.
The Embassy seeks team players who are flexible and cooperative in the performance of their duties.
(1) Secretary to the Ambassador and Assistant to the Public Diplomacy Section
(Coordinating the Ambassador's schedule, preparing official/private notes/letters, communicating with diplomatic missions, organizing receptions, welcoming the Ambassador’s visitors, assisting in the preparation of public diplomacy works/events, etc.).
(2) Assistant to the Political, Economic and Cooperation Section
(Preparation of documents and reports, translation into Arabic and English, liaison and coordination with relevant ministries and organizations, preparation and coordination of various meetings and events, etc.).
(3) Assistant to the Security/Counselor Section
(Preparation of documents and reports, translation into Arabic and English, liaison and coordination with relevant ministries, organizations, and individuals, preparation, and coordination of various meetings, etc.).
(4) Messenger
(Correspondence between the Embassy and the authorities, foreign missions, banks and other organizations, and support procedures).
Working Hours.
- 8:00 to 16:45 (except during Ramadan), Sunday to Thursday (except when the Embassy is closed), with a 1 hour lunch break.
Working conditions.
- Salary: To be determined in accordance with Embassy regulations, taking into account educational background, work experience and skills.
- One-year contract (first month probationary). Possibility of renewal based on performances.
Qualifications.
- Libyan nationals (or, in the case of third country nationals must legally reside in Libya).
- High level of English and Arabic required. (Translation and report writing in English and Arabic.)
- IT skills for standard office work or above.
- Residents of Tripoli who can commute to the Embassy (Janzur area) (no long-distance commuters)
*Transportation costs for commuting will not be covered.

1) Curriculum Vitae in English: full name, date of birth, address in Libya, mobile phone number, e-mail address, all education record, work experience and any professional qualifications must be included.
2) Letter of motivation clearly stating the position (1)-(4) for which you are applying (with a letter of recommendation letter if available).
3)-a Libyan national: Copy of passport and/or national identity card with photo
-b Third-country nationals: Copy of passport (with valid entry visa).
